until the DNS settings have propagated throughout the
World Wide Web (usually 24-48hours). For example:

Where do I upload my web site?
You need to upload files pertaining to your website to
your "public_html" directory inside the root of your
account. Files uploaded above your "public_html"
directory, such as in the root of your account or in
your "public_ftp" directory will not be available on
your website. Note that the "www" folder is actually a
link to the "public_html" directory.
What are all the files and
directories I see when I begin a ftp session to my site?
Upon logging into your account you will be in the "root"
directory of your web hosting account. You will see
several miscellaneous files and directories which are
important to the operation of your site and e-mail. Do
not alter any of these files or directories except the
contents of "public_html" and "public_ftp".
The "public_html" directory contains all files related
to your web site. This is where you should upload all
files related to your web site.
The "public_ftp" directory contains all files that you
would like anonymous ftp users to have access. Anonymous
File Transfer Protocol allows the public to log into
your FTP directory with a common login (anonymous@yourdomain.com
and any password (usually the person's e-mail address is
used as the password).
